Samech. Thou hast made me as an outcast and refuse in the midst of the people.

We are blasphemed, and we entreat; we are made as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all even until now.

He. I am made a derision to all my people, their song all the day long.

Samech. All they that passed by the way have clapped their hands at thee: they have hissed and wagged their heads at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying: Is this the city of perfect beauty, the joy of all the earth?

He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him. He shall be as the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

And thou shalt be lost, as a proverb and a byword to all people, among whom the Lord shall bring thee in.

And the Lord shall make thee the head and not the tail: and thou shalt be always above, and not beneath. Yet so if thou wilt hear the commandments of the Lord thy God which I command thee this day, and keep and do them.
