Mem. From above he hath sent fire into my bones and hath chastised me: he hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: he hath made me desolate, wasted with sorrow all the day long.

I have heard and my bowels were troubled: my lips trembled at the voice. Let rottenness enter into my bones, and swarm under me. That I may rest in the day of tribulation: that I may go up to our people that are girded.

My skin is become black upon me: and my bones are dried up with heat.

And I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my net: and I will bring him into Babylon and will judge him there for the transgression by which he hath despised me.

At least now, understand that God hath not afflicted me with an equal judgment, and compassed me with his scourges.

Thau. Let all their evil be present before thee: and make vintage of them, as thou hast made vintage of me for all my iniquities: for my sighs are many and my heart is sorrowful.

Wherefore my indignation and my fury was poured forth and was kindled in the cities of Juda and in the streets of Jerusalem: and they are turned to desolation and waste, as at this day.

They are turned back. Let them be greatly confounded that trust in a graven thing, that say to a molten thing: You are our god.

my soul hath hoped in the Lord.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and guile: he would not understand that he might do well.

Many are the scourges of the sinner, but mercy shall encompass him that hopeth in the Lord.

For he hath thrust his feet into a net, and walketh in its meshes.

Neither shalt thou be quiet, even in those nations, nor shall there be any rest for the sole of thy foot. For the Lord will give thee a fearful heart, and languishing eyes, and a soul consumed with pensiveness.

And now what is my hope? is it not the Lord? and my substance is with thee.

The just shall correct me in mercy, and shall reprove me: but let not the oil of the sinner fatten my head. For my prayer also shall still be against the things with which they are well pleased:

You shall not eat thereof any thing raw, nor boiled in water, but only roasted at the fire. You shall eat the head with the feet and entrails thereof.

Daleth. He hath turned aside my paths and hath broken me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.
