The ways are made desolate, no one passeth by the road, the covenant is made void. He hath rejected the cities, he hath not regarded the men.

After him was Samgar the son of Anath, who slew of the Philistines six hundred men with a ploughshare. And he also defended Israel.

Daleth. The ways of Sion mourn, because there are none that come to the solemn feast: all her gates are broken down: her priests sigh: her virgins are in affliction and she is oppressed with bitterness.

And I will send in upon you the beasts of the field, to destroy you and your cattle, and make you few in number: and that your highways may be desolate.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

At that time there shall be no peace to him that goeth out and cometh in: but terrors on every side among all the inhabitants of the earth.

The valiant men ceased, and rested in Israel until Debbora arose: a mother arose in Israel.

Go not out into the fields, nor walk in the highway: for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.
