And the children of Israel removed the camp, and came into their cities on the third day: the names of which are Gabaon, and Caphira, and Beroth, and Cariathiarim.
And the men of Cariathiarim came and fetched up the ark of the Lord and carried it into the house of Abinadab in Gabaa. And they sanctified Eleazar his son, to keep the ark of the Lord.
And it bendeth thence going round towards the sea, south of the mountain that looketh towards Beth-horon to the southwest: and the outgoings thereof are into Cariathbaal, which is called also Cariathiarim, a city of the children of Juda. This is their coast towards the sea, westward.
And it passeth on from the top of the mountain to the fountain of the water of Nephtoa: and reacheth to the towns of mount Ephron. And it bendeth towards Baala, which is Cariathiarim, that is to say, the city of the woods.
He was exceedingly afraid. For Gabaon was a great city, and one of the royal cities, and greater than the town of Hai: and all its fighting men were most valiant.
