The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied before the face of Pilate, when he judged he should be released.

And from henceforth Pilate sought to release him. But the Jews cried out, saying: If thou release this man, thou art not Caesar's friend. For whosoever maketh himself a king, speaketh against Caesar.

Saying: The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

And the chief priests accused him in many things.

Saying: Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests, and to the scribes and ancients, and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles.

Pilate therefore went out to them, and said: What accusation bring you against this man?

Pilate therefore said to them: Take him you, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him: It is not lawful for us to put any man to death;

Wherein I labour even unto bands, as an evildoer; but the word of God is not bound.

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or a railer, or a coveter of other men's things.
