And the Lord, the God of hosts, in that day shall call to weeping and to mourning: to baldness and to girding with sackcloth.

Did not one make her, and she is the residue of his spirit? And what doth one seek, but the seed of God? Keep then your spirit, and despise not the wife of thy youth.

Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl in your miseries, which shall come upon you.

And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation: and I will bring up sackcloth upon every back of yours, and baldness upon every head: and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the latter end thereof as a bitter day.

Therefore, at least from this time call to me: Thou art my father, the guide of my virginity:

Be astonished, ye rich women, be troubled, ye confident ones: strip you, and be confounded, gird your loins.

And forsaketh the guide of her youth,

Daleth. The ways of Sion mourn, because there are none that come to the solemn feast: all her gates are broken down: her priests sigh: her virgins are in affliction and she is oppressed with bitterness.
