How long wilt thou not spare me, nor suffer me to swallow down my spittle?

He. He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath inebriated me with wormwood.

Now all chastisement for the present indeed seemeth not to bring with it joy, but sorrow: but afterwards it will yield, to them that are exercised by it, the most peaceable fruit of justice.

But she said to them: Call me not Noemi (that is, beautiful), but call me Mara (that is, bitter), for the Almighty hath quite filled me with bitterness.

But they have gone after the perverseness of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them.
