Let his confidence be rooted out of his tabernacle: and let destruction tread upon him like a king.

If one swallow him up out of his place, he shall deny him, and shall say: I know thee not.

Why dost thou not remove my sin, and why dost thou not take away my iniquity? Behold, now I shall sleep in the dust: and if thou seek me in the morning I shall not be.

In like manner, ye young men, be subject to the ancients. And do you all insinuate humility one to another, for God resisteth the proud, but to the humble he giveth grace.

And they that shall be left shall be taken away from them. They shall die, and not in wisdom.

He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand. He shall prop it up, and it shall not rise.

And Job answered, and said:

For the congregation of the hypocrite is barren: and fire shall devour their tabernacles, who love to take bribes.

For you say: Where is the house of the prince? And where are the dwelling-places of the wicked?

But he saveth not the wicked: and he giveth judgment to the poor.

The king shall mourn and the prince shall be clothed with sorrow and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled. I will do to them according to their way and will judge them according to their judgments: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and take off their robes and cast away their broidered garments and be clothed with astonishment: they shall sit on the ground and with amazement shall wonder at thy sudden fall.

The house of the wicked shall be destroyed: but the tabernacles of the just shall flourish.

I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts: and it shall come to the house of the thief, and to the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it, with the timber thereof, and the stones thereof.
