My days have been swifter than a post: they have fled away and have not seen good.

Where is now then my expectation: and who considereth my patience?

For all flesh is as grass; and all the glory thereof as the flower of grass. The grass is withered, and the flower thereof is fallen away.

The wicked man shall be driven out in his wickedness: but the just hath hope in his death.

Generation and generation shall praise thy works: and they shall declare thy power.

My days have passed away, my thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my heart.

Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow.

For the sun rose with a burning heat, and parched the grass, and the flower thereof fell off, and the beauty of the shape thereof perished: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

That you were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the conversation of Israel, and strangers to the testament, having no hope of the promise, and without God in this world.

For according to the height of the heaven above the earth: he hath strengthened his mercy towards them that fear him.

And O that a man might so be judged with God, as the son of man is judged with his companion!

Although he should kill me, I will trust in him. But yet I will reprove my ways in his sight;

For what is my strength, that I can hold out? Or what is my end that I should keep patience?

Keep thy foot from being bare and thy throat from thirst. But thou saidst: I have lost all hope, I will not do it: for I have loved strangers and I will walk after them.

Wherefore having the loins of your mind girt up, being sober, trust perfectly in the grace which is offered you in the revelation of Jesus Christ,

Waters wear away the stones: and with inundation the ground by little and little is washed away. So in like manner thou shalt destroy man.

All that I have shall go down into the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there at least I shall have rest?

He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am lost. And he hath taken away my hope, as from a tree that is plucked up.

My spirit shall be wasted; my days shall be shortened: and only the grave remaineth for me.
