How long wilt thou not spare me, nor suffer me to swallow down my spittle?
He alloweth not my spirit to rest: and he filleth me with bitterness.
Depart a little from him, that he may rest, until his wished-for day come, as that of the hireling.
And they cried with a loud voice, saying: How long, O Lord (holy and true) dost thou not judge and revenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak: heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.
Shall not the fewness of my days be ended shortly? Suffer me, therefore, that I may lament my sorrow a little,
For evils without number have surrounded me; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I was not able to see. They are multiplied above the hairs of my head: and my heart hath forsaken me.
