But God is true; and every man a liar, as it is written, That thou mayest be justified in thy words, and mayest overcome when thou art judged.

And your league with death shall be abolished, and your covenant with hell shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge shall pass, you shall be trodden down by it.

And Eliu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, was angry and was moved to indignation. Now he was angry against Job, because he said he was just before God.

Doth it seem good to thee that thou shouldst calumniate me, and oppress me, the work of thy own hands, and help the counsel of the wicked?

There is indeed a setting aside of the former commandment, because of the weakness and unprofitableness thereof:

Now this I say, that the testament which was confirmed by God, the law which was made after four hundred and thirty years, doth not disannul, to make the promise of no effect.

Brethren (I speak after the manner of man,) yet a man's testament, if it be confirmed, no man despiseth, nor addeth to it.

For the Lord of hosts hath decreed, and who can disannul it? And his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it away?

All the day long thy tongue hath devised injustice: as a sharp razor, thou hast wrought deceit.

And shouldst know that I have done no wicked thing, whereas there is no man that can deliver out of thy hand.

If I shall be judged, I know that I shall be found just.

They have opened their mouths upon me, and reproaching me they have struck me on the cheek; they are filled with my pains.

At least now, understand that God hath not afflicted me with an equal judgment, and compassed me with his scourges.

Can he be healed that loveth not judgment? And how dost thou so far condemn him that is just?

Woe to him that gainsayeth his maker, a shard of the earthen pots. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it: What art thou making, and thy work is without hands?

So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he seemed just to himself.

Put me in remembrance, and let us plead together: tell if thou hast any thing to justify thyself.
