For Job hath said: I am just, and God hath overthrown my judgment.
I am clean, and without sin. I am unspotted, and there is no iniquity in me.
As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment, and the Almighty, who hath brought my soul to bitterness,
So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he seemed just to himself.
I was clad with justice: and I clothed myself with my judgment, as with a robe and a diadem.
My face is swollen with weeping; and my eyelids are dim.
For thou hast said: My word is pure, and I am clean in thy sight.
And shouldst know that I have done no wicked thing, whereas there is no man that can deliver out of thy hand.
For he shall crush me in a whirlwind and multiply my wounds, even without cause.
Answer, I beseech you, without contention: and speaking that which is just, judge ye.
If I shall be judged, I know that I shall be found just.
Let us choose to us judgment: and let us see among ourselves what is the best.
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel: My way is hid from the Lord and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Doth God pervert judgment: or doth the Almighty overthrow that which is just?
Behold, I shall cry suffering violence, and no one will hear: I shall cry aloud, and there is none to judge.
