Blind the heart of this people, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes: lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted, and I heal them.
Thou hast neither heard nor known: neither was thy ear opened of old. For I know that transgressing thou wilt transgress: and I have called thee a transgressor from the womb.
Because thou, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to the ear of thy servant, saying: I will build thee a house. Therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer to thee.
