And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment:

For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know nothing more, neither have they a reward any more: for the memory of them is forgotten.

It is not in man's power to stop the spirit, neither hath he power in the day of death, neither is he suffered to rest when war is at hand, neither shall wickedness save the wicked.

He hath been acceptable to the gravel of Cocytus. And he shall draw every man after him; and there are innumerable before him.

The days of man are short, and the number of his months is with thee: thou hast appointed his bounds which cannot be passed.

One thing there is that I have spoken: Both the innocent and the wicked he consumeth.

The small and great are there and the servant is : free from his master.

We all die, and like waters that return no more we fall down into the earth. Neither will God have a soul to perish, but recalleth; meaning that he that is cast off should not altogether perish.

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return to the earth, out of which thou wast taken: for dust thou art, and into dust thou shalt return.

Thy hands have made me and fashioned me wholly round about. And dost thou thus cast me down headlong on a sudden?

Behold this day I am going into the way of all the earth: and you shall know with all your mind that of all the words which the Lord promised to perform for you, not one hath failed.
