Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground.

Are you then men alone; and shall wisdom die with you?

Why have you detracted the words of truth, whereas there is none of you that can reprove me?

My strength is not the strength of stones: nor is my flesh of brass.

And when it was now noon, Elias jested at them, saying: Cry with a louder voice; for he is a God, and perhaps he is talking, or is in an inn, or on a journey; or perhaps he is asleep, and must be awaked.

With whom hath he consulted: and who hath instructed him, and taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and shewed him the way of understanding?

For what is my strength, that I can hold out? Or what is my end that I should keep patience?

Behold, there is no help for me in myself; and my familiar friends also are departed from me.

Then Job answered, and said:

To whom hast thou given counsel? Perhaps to him that hath no wisdom; and thou hast shewn thy very great prudence.

Behold, you all know it, and why do you speak vain things without cause?
