If to the left hand, what shall I do? I shall not take hold on him. If I turn myself to the right hand, I shall not see him.
And I will wait for the Lord who hath hid his face from the house of Jacob: and I will look for him.
If he come to me, I shall not see him: if he depart, I shall not understand.
But if I go to the east, he appeareth not: if to the west, I shall not understand him.
But he knoweth my way, and has tried me as gold that passeth through the fire.
Yea when thou shalt say: He considereth not: be judged before him, and expect him.
Although thou conceal these things in thy heart, yet I know that thou rememberest all things.
For when he granteth peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hideth his countenance, who is there that can behold him, whether it regard nations, or all men?
Verily thou art a hidden God, the God of Israel, the saviour.
