And hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

The princes ceased to speak: and laid the finger on their mouth.

And they said to him: Hold thy peace and put thy finger on thy mouth and come with us, that we may have thee for a father, and a priest. Whether is better for thee, to be a priest in the house of one man, or in a tribe and family in Israel?

There is that hath appeared a fool after he was lifted up on high: for if he had understood, he would have laid his hand upon his mouth.

O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments, and how unsearchable his ways!

The nations shall see, and shall be confounded at all their strength: they shall put the hand upon the mouth, their ears shall be deaf.

Therefore the prudent shall keep silence at that time, for it is an evil time.

that I should do thy will: O my God, I have desired it, and thy law in the midst of my heart.

The just shall be astonished at this: and the innocent shall be raised up against the hypocrite.

And when they had lifted up their eyes afar off they knew him not. And crying out they wept: and rending their garments they sprinkled dust upon their heads towards heaven.

And I wish you would hold your peace, that you might be thought to be wise men.

He shall sprinkle many nations: kings shall shut their mouth at him. For they to whom it was not told of him have seen: and they that heard not have beheld.
