And he said to her: Thou hast spoken like one of the foolish women. If we have received good things at the hand of God, why should we not receive evil? In all these things Job did not sin with his lips.

Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go out with our armies?

A foolish woman and clamorous, and full of allurements, and knowing nothing at all,

Forsake childishness, and live, and walk by the ways of prudence.

Hast not thou made a fence for him, and his house, and all his substance round about: blessed the works of his hands, and his possession hath increased on the earth?

So Samuel told him all the words, and did not hide them from him. And he answered: It is the Lord. Let him do what is good in his sight.

And his wife said to him: Dost thou still continue in thy simplicity? Bless God, and die.

that I should do thy will: O my God, I have desired it, and thy law in the midst of my heart.

Consider the works of God, that no man can correct whom he hath despised.

I have declared thy justice in a great church, lo, I will not restrain my lips: O Lord, thou knowest it.
