Why do you persecute me as God, and glut yourselves with my flesh?

Who have eaten the flesh of my people, and have flayed their skin from off them: and have broken, and chopped their bones as for the kettle, and as flesh in the midst of the pot.

And I will put it in the hand of them that have oppressed thee and have said to thy soul: Bow down, that we may go over. And thou hast laid thy body as the ground and as a way to them that went over.

If the men of my tabernacle have not said: Who will give us of his flesh that we may be filled?

They have opened their mouths upon me, and reproaching me they have struck me on the cheek; they are filled with my pains.

Against a leaf, that is carried away with the wind, thou shewest thy power: and thou pursuest a dry straw.

And for pride thou wilt take me as a lioness, and returning thou tormentest me wonderfully.

But put forth thy hand, and touch his bone and his flesh: and then thou shalt see that he will bless thee to thy face.

Why hidest thou thy face, and thinkest me thy enemy?

At least now, understand that God hath not afflicted me with an equal judgment, and compassed me with his scourges.

Why then do you say now: Let us persecute him, and let us find occasion of word against him?

Thou art changed to be cruel toward me: and in the hardness of thy hand thou art against me.
