Why are we reputed as beasts, and counted vile before you?

Arise, O God, judge thy own cause: remember thy reproaches with which the foolish man hath reproached thee all the day.

Wherefore be you all converted, and come: and I shall not find among you any wise man.

Thou hast set their heart far from understanding: therefore they shall not be exalted.

Loving one another with the charity of brotherhood, with honour preventing one another.

I said in my heart concerning the sons of men, that God would prove them, and shew them to be like beasts.

Yet so, that they exceed not the number of forty: lest thy brother depart shamefully torn before thy eyes.

How long will you throw out words? Understand first, and so let us speak.

Thou that destroyest thy soul in thy fury, shall the earth be forsaken for thee; and shall rocks be removed out of their place?
