Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and multipliest thy wrath upon me; and pains war against me.

The flesh being consumed, my bone hath cleaved to my skin, and nothing but lips are left about my teeth.

I went out full, and the Lord hath brought me back empty. Why then do you call me, Noemi, whom the Lord hath humbled and the Almighty hath afflicted?

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any; such thing; but that it should be holy, and without blemish.

Therefore the sovereign Lord, the Lord of hosts, shall send leanness among his fat ones: and under his glory shall be kindled a burning, as it were the burning of a fire.

Let the mercies of the Lord give glory to him, and his wonderful works to the children of men.

My eye is dim through indignation: and my limbs are brought as it were to nothing.

His flesh shall be consumed away: and his bones that were covered shall be made bare.
