Fears shall terrify him on every side, and shall entangle his feet.

For when they shall say, peace and security; then shall sudden destruction come upon them, as the pains upon her that is with child, and they shall not escape.

And as to them that shall remain of you I will send fear in their hearts in the countries of their enemies. The sound of a flying leaf shall terrify them: and they shall flee as it were from the sword. They shall fall, when no man pursueth them.

Neither do you murmur: as some of them murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

A king, the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek Apollyon; in Latin Exterminans,

Poverty like water shall take hold on him: a tempest shall oppress him in the night.

For the Lord had made them hear, in the camp of Syria, the noise of chariots, and of horses, and of a very great army. And they said one to another: Behold, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hethites, and of the Egyptians; and they are come upon us.

Tribulation shall terrify him, and distress shall surround him, as a king that is prepared for the battle.

Let his confidence be rooted out of his tabernacle: and let destruction tread upon him like a king.

There was nothing left of his meat: and therefore nothing shall continue of his goods.

Therefore art thou surrounded with snares: and sudden fear troubleth thee.

If the morning suddenly appear, it is to them the shadow of death: and they walk in darkness as if it were in light.

That which the wicked feareth, shall come upon him: to the just their desire shall be given.

The wicked man fleeth, when no man pursueth: but the just, bold as a lion, shall be without dread.

Gird thee with sackcloth, O daughter of my people, and sprinkle thee with ashes: make thee mourning as for an only son, a bitter lamentation, because the destroyer shall suddenly come upon us.
