How long wilt thou not spare me, nor suffer me to swallow down my spittle?

For evils without number have surrounded me; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I was not able to see. They are multiplied above the hairs of my head: and my heart hath forsaken me.

Shall not the fewness of my days be ended shortly? Suffer me, therefore, that I may lament my sorrow a little,

I have done with hope. I shall now live no longer: spare me, for my days are nothing.

A tree hath hope. If it be cut, it groweth green again, and the boughs thereof sprout.

And now the Lord hath spoken, saying: In three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be taken away for all the multitude of the people; and it shall be left small and feeble, not many.
