Thou hast put my feet in the stocks, and hast observed all my paths, and hast considered the steps of my feet:

He hath put my feet in the stocks, he hath observed all my paths.

Who having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

Immediately he followeth her as an ox led to be a victim, and as a lamb playing the wanton, and not knowing that he is drawn like a fool to bonds,

My wrinkles bear witness against me: and a false speaker riseth up against my face, contradicting me.

Thou indeed hast numbered my steps: but spare my sins.

That thou shouldst inquire after my iniquity and search after my sin?

So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with a very grievous ulcer, from the sole of the foot even to the top of his head.

And Phassur struck Jeremias the prophet and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin, in the house of the Lord.

To a man whose way is hidden, and God hath surrounded him with darkness?
