There was a man in the land of Hus, whose name was Job: and that man was simple and upright, and fearing God, and avoiding evil.

Behold, we account them blessed who have endured. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is merciful and compassionate.

And if these three men, Noe, Daniel and Job, shall be in it: they shall deliver their own souls by their justice, saith the Lord of hosts.

And Noe and Daniel and Job be in the midst thereof: as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter, but they shall only deliver their own souls by their justice.

And he said to man: Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom: and to depart from evil, is understanding.

And the Lord said to Satan: Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a man simple, and upright, and fearing God, and avoiding evil, and still keeping his innocence? But thou hast moved me against him, that I should afflict him without cause.

And the Lord said to him: Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a simple and upright man, and fearing God, and avoiding evil?

These are the generations of Noe. Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations; he walked with God.

And they were both just before God, walking in all the commandments and justifications of the Lord without blame.

The fear of the Lord hateth evil: I hate arrogance, and pride, and every wicked way, and a mouth with a double tongue.

And he said to him: Lay not thy hand upon the boy, neither do thou any thing to him. Now I know that thou fearest God, and hast not spared thy only begotten son for my sake.

And after he began to be ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared to him: and said unto him: I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be perfect.

Sin. Rejoice, and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Hus: to thee also shall the cup come, thou shalt be made drunk and naked.

By mercy and truth iniquity is redeemed: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

I beseech thee, O Lord, remember how I have walked before thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is pleasing before thee. And Ezechias wept with much weeping.

Let him decline from evil, and do good: let him seek after peace and pursue it:

And all in general: all the kings of the land of Ausitis, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines and Ascalon and Gaza and Accaron and the remnant of Azotus.

The sons of Eser: Balaan, and Zavan, and Jacan. The sons of Disan: Hus and Aran.

The sons of Sem: Elam, and Asur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Hus, and Hul, and Gether, and Mosoch.

And provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, in whom there is truth, and that hate avarice: and appoint of them rulers of thousands, and of hundreds, and of fifties, and of tens,

And Disan had sons: Hus, and Aram.

The sons of Aram: Us and Hull, and Gether, and Mess.

And the third day he brought them out of prison, and said: Do as I have said, and you shall live; for I fear God.

Thou shalt be perfect: and without spot before the Lord thy God.

Where is thy fear, thy fortitude, thy patience, and the perfection of thy ways?

Although I should be simple, even this my soul shall be ignorant of: and I shall be weary of my life.

Be not wise in thy own conceit: fear God, and depart from evil:

He that walketh in the right way, and feareth God, is despised by him that goeth by an infamous way.

A wise man feareth and declineth from evil: the fool leapeth over and is confident.

The path of the just departeth from evils: he that keepeth his soul keepeth his way.

The just that walketh in his simplicity, shall leave behind him blessed children.
