Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee, lest I make thee desolate, a land uninhabited.

And though they should bring up their children, I will make them without children among men: yea, and woe to them, when I shall depart from them.

And she discovered her fornications and discovered her disgrace: and my soul was alienated from her, as my soul was alienated from her sister.

But they did not hear nor incline their ear: but hardened their neck, that they might not hear me and might not receive instruction.

I said: Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive correction: and her dwelling shall not perish, for all things wherein I have visited her: but they rose early and corrupted all their thoughts.

And they have turned their backs to me, and not their faces, when I taught them early in the morning and instructed them: and they would not hearken to receive instruction.

O Lord, thou wilt open my lips: and my mouth shall declare thy praise.

For after thou didst convert me, I did penance: and after thou didst show unto me, I struck my thigh. I am confounded and ashamed, because I have borne the reproach of my youth.

And I will make Jerusalem to be heaps of sand, and dens of dragons: and I will make the cities of Juda desolate, for want of an inhabitant.

And I will cause to cease out of the cities of Juda and out of the streets of Jerusalem the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the brid egroom and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Behold, my wrath and my indignation was enkindled against this place, upon men and upon beasts, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruits of the land: and it shall burn and shall not be quenched.

Wash thy heart from wickedness, O Jerusalem, that thou mayst be saved. How long shall hurtful thoughts abide in thee?

The lions have roared upon him and have made a noise: they have made his land a wilderness. His cities are burnt down: and there is none to dwell in them.

Take hold on instruction, leave it not: keep it, because it is thy life.

And now, O ye kings, understand: receive instruction, you that judge the earth.

O that they would be wise and would understand, and would provide for their last end!

Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths all the days of her desolation. When you shall be

And thou shalt say to them: This is a nation which hath not hearkened to the voice of the Lord their God nor received instruction. Faith is lost and is taken away out of their mouth.

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayst be wise in thy latter end.

For their mother hath committed fornication, she that conceived them is covered with shame: for she said: I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread, and my water, my wool, and my flax, my oil, and my drink.
