And you, O children of Sion, rejoice, and be joyful in the Lord your God: because he hath given you a teacher of justice, and he will make the early and the latter rain to come down to you as in the beginning.

All the days of the earth, seed-time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, night and day, shall not cease.

And speaking these things, they scarce restrained the people from sacrificing to them.

That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.

Are there any among the graven things of the Gentiles that can send rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Art not thou the Lord our God, whom we have looked for? For thou hast made all these things.

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and they have power over waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues as often as they will.

Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth: patiently bearing till he receive the early and latter rain.

Ask ye of the Lord rain in the latter season, and the Lord will make snows, and will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

I also have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon: and the piece whereupon I rained not, withered.

In their affliction they will rise early to me: Come, and let us return to the Lord:

They shall ask the way to Sion: their faces are hitherward. They shall come and shall be joined to the Lord by an everlasting covenant which shall never be forgotten.

Will not you then fear me? saith the Lord. And will you not repent at my presence? I have set the sand a bound for the sea, an everlasting ordinance which it shall not pass over. And the waves thereof shall toss themselves and shall not prevail: they shall swell, and shall not pass over it.

There is none that calleth upon thy name: that riseth up and taketh hold of thee: Thou hast hid thy face from us and hast crushed us in the hand of our iniquity.

Who can declare the order of the heavens? Or who can make the harmony of heaven to sleep?

And Elias the Thesbite of the inhabitants of Galaad said to Achab: As the Lord liveth, the God of Israel, in whose sight I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to the words of my mouth.

The Lord will open his excellent treasure, the heaven, that it may give rain in due season: and he will bless all the works of thy hands. And thou shalt lend to many nations, and shalt not borrow of any one.

And after this the children of Israel shall return, and shall seek the Lord their God, and David their king: and they shall fear the Lord, and his goodness in the last days.

Who giveth rain upon the face of the earth, and watereth all things with waters.

Who hath set my soul to live: and hath not suffered my feet to be moved:

Thy own wickedness shall reprove thee, and thy apostasy shall rebuke thee. Know thou, and see that it is an evil and a bitter thing for thee, to have left the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not with thee, saith the Lord, the God of hosts.

Therefore the showers were withholden, and there was no lateward rain: thou hadst a harlot's forehead, thou wouldst not blush.

They waited for me as for rain: and they opened their mouth as for a latter shower.

At his voice he giveth a multitude of waters in the heaven and lifteth up the clouds from the ends of the earth. He maketh lightnings for rain and bringeth for the wind out of his treasures.
