Woe to thee Moab: thou art undone, O people of Chamos. He hath given his sons to flight, and his daughters into captivity to Sehon the king of the Amorrhites.
For because thou hast trusted in thy bulwarks and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken: and Chamos shall go into captivity, his priests, and his princes together.
Then Solomon built a temple for Chamos, the idol of Moab, on the hill that is over against Jerusalem: and for Moloch, the idol of the children of Ammon.
Are not those things which thy god Chamos possesseth due to thee by right? But what the Lord our God hath obtained by conquest shall be our possession.
The high places also that were at Jerusalem on the right side of the Mount of Offence, which Solomon king of Israel had built to Astaroth the idol of the Sidonians, and to Chamos the scandal of Moab, and to Melchom the abomination of the children of Ammon, the king defiled.
And it shall come to pass that, as a bird fleeing away, and as young ones flying out of the nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be in the passage of Arnon.
