Was it not the sacrifice that you offered in the cities of Juda and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, which the Lord hath remembered: and hath it not entered into his heart?

But we will certainly do every word that shall proceed out of our own mouth, to sacrifice to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink-offerings to her, as we and our fathers have done, our kings, and our princes in the cities of Juda, and in the streets of Jerusalem: and we were filled with bread, and it was well with us, and we saw no evil.

Have you forgotten the evils of your fathers and the evils of the kings of Juda and the evils of their wives and your evils and the evils of your wives, that they have done in the land of Juda and in the streets of Jerusalem?

Thus saith the Lord to his people that have loved to move their feet and have not rested and have not pleased the Lord: He will now remember their iniquities and visit their sins.

For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Juda: and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem thou hast set up altars of confusion, altars to offer sacrifice to Baalim.

Be not very angry, O Lord, and remember no longer our iniquity: behold, see we are all thy people.

O God of hosts, convert us: and shew thy face, and we shall be saved.

The Lord hath sworn against the pride of Jacob: surely I will never forget all their works.

And lest they may say in their hearts, that I remember all their wickedness: their own devices now have beset them about, they have been done before my face.

For her sins have reached unto heaven, and the Lord hath remembered her iniquities.

And the great city was divided into three parts; and the cities of the Gentiles fell. And great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the indignation of his wrath.

That thou didst also build thee a common stew and madest thee a brothel house in every street.

And she said to Elias: What have I to do with thee, thou man of God? Art thou come to me that my iniquities should be remembered, and that thou shouldst kill my son?

Now therefore go, and smite Amalec, and utterly destroy all that he hath. Spare him not, nor covet any thing that is his; but slay both man and woman, child and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

The Lord saw, and was moved to wrath: because his own sons and daughters provoked him.

Are not these things stored up with me, and sealed up in my treasures?

Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Juda which they have done, provoking me to wrath, they and their kings, their princes, and their priests and their prophets, the men of Juda and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And Jeremias spoke to all the people, to the men and to the women and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying:
