In that day there shall be five cities in the land of Egypt, speaking the language of Chanaan, and swearing by the Lord of hosts. One shall be called the city of the sun.

And he turned his name, and called him in the Egyptian tongue, The saviour of the world. And he gave him to wife Asenth, the daughter of Putiphare priest of Heliopolis. Then Joseph went out to the land of Egypt:

They are consumed and are broken together: they could not save him that carried them; and they themselves shall go into captivity.

And he shall kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt: and he shall burn them: and he shall carry them away captives. And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment: and he shall go forth from thence in peace.

The word that came to Jeremias, concerning all the Jews that dwelt in the land of Egypt, dwelling in Magdal and in Taphnis and in Memphis and in the land of Phatures, saying:

The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, hath said: Behold, I will visit upon the tumult of Alexandria and upon Pharao and upon Egypt and upon her gods and upon her kings and upon Pharao upon them that trust in him.

With the hoofs of his horses he shall tread down all thy streets: thy people he shall kill with the sword, and thy famous statues shall fall to the ground.

THE burden of Egypt. Behold, the Lord will ascend upon a swift cloud and will enter into Egypt. And the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst thereof.

Thus then shall you say to them: The gods that have not made heaven and earth, let them perish from the earth and from among those places that are under heaven.

Pharao, the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people,

Thus saith the Lord God: I will also destroy the idols, and I will make an end of the idols of Memphis: and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will cause a terror in the land of Egypt.

The young men of Heliopolis, and of Bubastus shall fall by the sword, and they themselves shall go into captivity.
