But Johanan the son of Caree and all the captains of the soldiers took all the remnant of Juda that were returned out of all nations to which they had before been scattered, to dwell in the land of Juda:

The meadows are open, and the green herbs have appeared, and the hay is gathered out of the mountains.

Therefore I will lament with the weeping of Jazer the vineyard of Sabama: I will water thee with my tears, O Hesebon and Eleale: for the voice of the treaders hath rushed in upon thy vintage and upon thy harvest.

And Ismahel the son of Nathanias took them: and he departed, to go over to the children of Ammon.

But since we left off to offer sacrifice to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink-offerings to her, we have wanted all things and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.

My sheep have wandered in every mountain, and in every high hill: and my flocks mere scattered upon the face of the earth, and there was none that sought them, there was none, I say, that sought them.
