Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Juda and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not receive instruction, to obey my words, saith the Lord?

And they have turned their backs to me, and not their faces, when I taught them early in the morning and instructed them: and they would not hearken to receive instruction.

O Lord, thy eyes are upon truth: thou hast struck them, and they have not grieved: thou hast bruised them, and they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than the rock and they have refused to return.

See that you refuse him not that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spoke upon the earth, much more shall not we, that turn away from him that speaketh to us from heaven.

Who is the wise man, that may understand this, and to whom the word of the mouth of the Lord may come that he may declare this, why the land hath perished and is burnt up like a wilderness which none passeth through?

Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayst be wise in thy latter end.
