Go, and proclaim these words toward the north. And thou shalt say: Return, O rebellious Israel, saith the Lord, and I will not turn away my face from you: for I am holy, saith the Lord, and I will not be angry for ever.

Say to them: As I live, saith the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way, and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways: and why will you die, O house of Israel?

Surely I will also cast off the seed of Jacob and of David my servant, so as not to take any of his seed to be rulers of the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will bring back their captivity and will have mercy on them.

the Lord enlighteneth the blind. The Lord lifteth up them that are cast down: the Lord loveth the just.

It is commonly said: If a man put away his wife, and she go from him and marry another man, shall he return to her any more? Shall not that woman be polluted and defiled? But thou hast prostituted thyself to many lovers. Nevertheless return to me, saith the Lord, and I will receive thee.

I have blotted out thy iniquities as a cloud and thy sins as a mist: return to me, for I have redeemed thee.

He that hideth his sins, shall not prosper: but he that shall confess, and forsake them, shall obtain mercy.

there the sparrows shall make their nests. The highest of them is the house of the heron.

The mountains ascend, and the plains descend into the place which thou hast founded for them.

O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy servant?

For if you turn again to the Lord, your brethren, and children shall find mercy before their masters, that have led them away captive. And they shall return into this land: for the Lord your God is merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.

Until they confess their iniquities, and the iniquities of their ancestors, whereby they have transgressed me, and walked contrary unto me.

Thou hast set a bound which they shall not pass over; neither shall they return to cover the earth.

And the Lord said to me: Proclaim aloud all these words in the cities of Juda and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hear ye the words of the covenant and do them:

And when I shall have plucked them out, I will return and have mercy on them: and I will bring them back, every man to his inheritance and every man to his land.

Heth. The mercies of the Lord that we are not consumed: because his commiserations have not failed.

Therefore speak to them: Thus saith the Lord God: I will gather you from among the peoples and assemble you out of the countries wherein you are scattered and I will give you the land of Israel.

Now therefore I have a mind that we make a covenant with the Lord the God of Israel: and he will turn away the wrath of his indignation from us.

Return as you had deeply revolted, O children of Israel.

Set thee up a watch-tower: make to thee bitterness direct thy heart into the right way wherein thou hast walked. Return, O virgin of Israel, return to these thy cities.

Be not as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have cried, saying: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Turn ye from your evil ways, and from your wicked thoughts: but they did not give ear, neither did they hearken to me, saith the Lord.
