Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold I will visit upon Semeias the Nehelamite and upon his seed. He shall not have a man to sit in the midst of this people and he shall not see the good that I will do to my people, saith the Lord: because he hath spoken treason against the Lord.

Therefore, thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will send thee away from off the face of the earth: this year shalt thou die. For thou hast spoken against the Lord.

For he shall be like tamaric in the desert, and he shall not see when good shall come: but he shall dwell in dryness in the desert, in a salt land, and not inhabited.

Thus saith the Lord: Write this man barren, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for there shall not be a man of his seed that shall sit upon the throne of David and have power any more in Juda.

And to Semeias the Nehelamite thou shalt say:

This is the word that came to Jeremias from the Lord, saying:

And I will punish him and his seed and his servants, for their iniquities: and I will bring upon them and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem and upon the men of Juda all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they have not heard.

And I will pick out from among you the transgressors and the wicked and will bring them out of the land where they sojourn: and they shall not enter into the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord.

All the sinners of my people shall fall by the sword: who say: The evils shall not approach, and shall not come upon us.
