For I have not sent them, saith the Lord: and they prophesy in my name falsely: to drive you out, and that you may perish, both you and the prophets that prophesy to you.

I did not send prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

And her prophets have daubed them without tempering the mortar, seeing vain things and divining lies unto them, saying: Thus saith the Lord God: when the Lord hath not spoken.

Nun. Thy prophets have seen false and foolish things for thee: and they have not laid open thy iniquity, to excite thee to penance: but they have seen for thee false revelations and banishments.

Because they have acted folly in Israel and have committed adultery with the wives of their friends and have spoken lying words in my name, which I commanded them not. I am the judge and the witness, saith the Lord.

But thou, Phassur, and all that dwell in thy house, shall go into captivity. And thou shalt go to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and there thou shalt be buried, thou and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied a lie.

And it shall come to pass, that when any man shall prophesy any more, his father and his mother that brought him into the world, shall say to him: Thou shalt not live: because thou best spoken a lie in the name of the Lord. And his father, and his mother, his parents, shall thrust him through, when he shall prophesy.

And Hananias spoke in the presence of all the people, saying: Thus saith the Lord: Even so will I break the yoke of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon after two full years from off the neck of all the nations.

Behold, you put your trust in lying words which shall not profit you:

For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets that are in the midst of you and your diviners deceive you, and give no heed to your dreams which you dream:

They see vain things, and they foretell lies, saying: The Lord saith: whereas the Lord hath not sent them. And they have persisted to confirm what they have said.

And my hand shall be upon the prophets that see vain things and that divine lies. They shall not be in the council of my people, nor shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel: neither shall they enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am the Lord God.

If thy brother the son of thy mother, or thy son, or daughter, or thy wife that is in thy bosom, or thy friend, whom thou lovest as thy own soul, would persuade thee secretly, saying: Let us go, and serve strange gods, which thou knowest not, nor thy fathers,

But the prophet, who being corrupted with pride shall speak in my name things that I did not command him to say, or in the name of strange gods, shall be slain.

Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord: who use their tongues and say: The Lord saith it.
