Now therefore amend your ways and your doings, and hearken to the voice of the Lord your God: and the Lord will repent him of the evil that he hath spoken against you.

And he prayed to the Lord, and said: I beseech thee, O Lord, is not this what I said, when I was yet in my own country? therefore I went before to flee into Tharsis: for I know that thou art a gracious and merciful God, patient, and of much compassion, and easy to forgive evil.

Who can tell if God will turn, and forgive: and will turn away from his fierce anger, and we shall not perish?

If you be willing, and will hearken to me, you shall eat the good things of the land.

And being consummated, he became, to all that obey him, the cause of eternal salvation.

Who knoweth but he will return, and forgive, and leave a blessing behind him, sacrifice and libation to the Lord your God?

But Jeremias answered: They shall not deliver thee. Hearken, I beseech thee, to the word of the Lord which I speak to thee, and it shall be well with thee and thy soul shall live.

If so be, when the house of Juda shall hear all the evils that I purpose to do unto them, that they may return every man from his wicked way: and I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.

And I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early, and sending and saying: Return ye every man from his wicked way and make your ways good, and follow not strange gods nor worship them: and you shall dwell in the land: which I gave you and your fathers. And you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened to me.

Did Ezechias king of Juda and all Juda condemn him to death? Did they not fear the Lord and beseech the face of the Lord? And the Lord repented of the evil that they had spoken against them. Therefore we are doing a great evil against our souls.

If so be they will hearken and be converted every one from his evil way; that I may repent me of the evil that I think to do unto them for the wickedness of their doings.

If that nation against which I have spoken shall repent of their evil, I also will repent of the evil that I have thought to do to them.

Let the wicked forsake his way and the unjust man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord; and he will have mercy on him: and to our God, for he is bountiful to forgive.

Say to them: As I live, saith the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way, and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways: and why will you die, O house of Israel?

If you will be quiet and remain in this land, I will build you up and not pull you down: I will plant you and not pluck you up: for now I am appeased for the evil that I have done to you.

And when the Lord raised them up judges, in their days he was moved to mercy, and heard the groanings of the afflicted, and delivered them from the slaughter of the oppressors.

The Lord will judge his people, and will have mercy on his servants. He shall see that their hand is weakened, and that they who were shut up have also failed, and they that remained are consumed.

And the Lord was appeased from doing the evil which he had spoken against his people.

Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying: Hear ye my voice and do all things that I command you: and you shall be my people, and I will be your God:

Now therefore tell the men of Juda and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying: Thus saith the Lord: Behold, I frame evil against you and devise a device against you. Let every man of you return from his evil way: and make ye your ways and your doings good.
