For, behold, I begin to bring evil on the city wherein my name is called upon. And shall you be as innocent and escape free? You shall not escape free: for I will call for the sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts.

For the time is, that judgment should begin at the house of God. And if first at us, what shall be the end of them that believe not the gospel of God?

And I will call in the sword against him in all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man's sword shall be pointed against his brother.

If the just man receive in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner.

Then hear thou in heaven, in the firmament of thy dwelling place, and do all those things, for which that stranger shall call upon thee. That all the people of the earth may learn to fear thy name, as do thy people Israel, and may prove that thy name is called upon on this house, which I have built.

For as you have drunk upon my holy mountain, so all nations shall drink continually: and they shall drink, and sup up, and they shall be as though they were not.

Utterly destroy old and young, maidens, children and women: but upon whomsoever you shall see Thau, kill him not. And begin ye at my sanctuary. So they began at the ancient men who were before the house.

For thus saith the Lord: Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup shall certainly drink: and shalt thou come off as innocent? Thou shalt not come off as innocent, but drinking thou shalt drink.

For if in the green wood they do these things, what shall be done in the dry?

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that cleaveth to me, saith the Lord of hosts: strike the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn my hand to the little ones.

For thus saith the Lord: Although I shall send in upon Jerusalem my four grievous judgments, the sword and the famine and the mischievous beasts and the pestilence, to destroy out of it man and beast,

Or, if I bring the sword upon that land and say to the sword: Pass through the land: and I destroy man and beast out of it:

And thou, my servant Jacob, fear not, saith the Lord: because I am with thee. For I will consume all the nations to which I have cast thee out: but thee I will not consume. But I will correct thee in judgment: neither will I spare thee, as if thou wert innocent.

For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: for I will utterly consume all the nations among which I have scattered thee. But I will not utterly consume thee: but I will chastise thee in judgment, that thou mayst not seem to thyself innocent.

And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, and the kings of the race of David that sit upon his throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

And it shall come to pass, that when the Lord shall have performed all his works in Mount Sion and in Jerusalem, I will visit the fruit of the proud heart of the king of Assyria and the glory of the haughtiness of his eyes.

He that despiseth the poor, reproacheth his Maker; and he that rejoiceth at another man's ruin, shall not be unpunished.

Hand in hand the evil man shall not be innocent: but the seed of the just shall be saved.

And thou shalt say: Hear the word of the Lord, O ye kings of Juda and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring an affliction upon this place: so that whoever shall hear it, his ears shall tingle.
