For they have served them, whereas they were many nations and great kings: and I will repay them according to their deeds and according to the works of their hands.
Flee ye from the midst of Babylon and let every one save his own life, be not silent upon her iniquity: for it is the time of revenge from the Lord. He will render unto her what she hath deserved.
For, behold, I raise up and will bring against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the land of the north: and they shall be prepared against her, and from thence she shall be taken. Their arrows, like those of a mighty man, a destroyer, shall not return in vain.
And all nations shall serve him and his son and his son's son, till the time come for his land and himself: and many nations and great kings shall serve him.
And the people shall take them and bring them into their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids. And they shall make them captives that had taken them: and shall subdue their oppressors.
The days of visitation are come, the days of repaying are come: know ye, O Israel, that the prophet was foolish, the spiritual man was mad, for the multitude of thy iniquity, and the multitude of thy madness.
The noise of a multitude in the mountains, as it were of many people: the noise of the sound of kings, of nations gathered together. The Lord of hosts hath given charge to the troops of war.
Great in counsel and incomprehensible in thought: whose eyes are open upon all the ways of the children of Adam to render unto every one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his devices.
