And he carried away Joachin into Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his eunuchs. And the judges of the land he carried into captivity from Jerusalem into Babylon.

Behold, the Lord will cause thee to be carried away, as a cock is carried away: and he will lift thee up as a garment.

Joachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Nohesta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

For thus saith the Lord: Behold, I will cast away far off the inhabitants of the land at this time: and I will afflict them, so that they may be found.

Say to the king and to the queen: Humble yourselves, sit down: for the crown of your glory is come down from your head.

So I will cast you forth out of this land, into a land which you know not, nor you fathers: and there you shall serve strange gods, day and night, which shall not give you any rest.

And they shall not return into the land, whereunto they lift up their mind to return thither.

And I will bring back to this place Jechonias the son of Joakim king of Juda and all the captives of Juda that are gone to Babylon, saith the Lord: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

After that Jechonias the king and the queen and the eunuchs and the princes of Juda and of Jerusalem and the craftsman and the engravers were departed out of Jerusalem:

And there shall be none that shall escape and remain of the remnant of the Jews that are gone to sojourn in the land of Egypt, and that shall return into the land of Juda, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there. There shall none return but they that shall flee.

And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Joachin king of Juda, in the twelfth month the seven and twentieth day of the month: Evil merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, lifted up the head of Joachin king of Juda out of prison.

And he changed his garments which he had in prison: and he ate bread always before him, all the days of his life.

And he appointed him a continual allowance, which was also given him by the king day by day, all the days of his life.
