Therefore I will give their women to strangers, their fields to others for an inheritance: because from the least even to the greatest all follow covetousness: from the prophet even to the priest all deal deceitfully.

As the partridge hath hatched eggs which she did not lay: so is he that hath gathered riches, and not by right. In the midst of his days he shall leave them: and in his latter end he shall be a fool.

That grieveth the needy and the poor: that taketh away by violence: that restoreth not the pledge: and that lifteth up his eyes to idols: that committeth abomination:

And they have coveted fields, and taken them by violence, and houses they have forcibly taken away: and oppressed a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.

You that build up Sion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.

And his sons walked not in his ways: but they turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.

And he did evil before the Lord according to all that his fathers had done.

If you oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, and walk not after strange gods to your own hurt:

Because they have forsaken me and have profaned this place and have sacrificed therein to strange gods, whom neither they nor their fathers knew, nor the kings of Juda. And they have filled this place with the blood of innocents.

He learned to make widows and to lay waste their cities: and the land became desolate and the fulness thereof by the noise of his roaring.

And they put him into a cage. They brought him in chains to the king of Babylon: and they cast him into prison, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.

Behold, the princes of Israel: every one hath employed his arm in thee to shed blood.
