And thou shalt say to him: Thus saith the Lord: Israel is my son, my firstborn.

THUS saith the Lord: What is this bill of the divorce of your mother, with which I have put her away? Or who is my creditor, to whom I sold you? Behold, you are sold for your iniquities: and for your wicked deeds have I put your mother away.

I got me menservants, and maidservants, and had a great family: and herds of oxen, and great flocks of sheep, above all that were before me in Jerusalem:

And Abram added: But to me thou hast not given seed: and lo, my servant, born in my house, shall be my heir.

The same law shall be to him that is born in the land, and to the proselyte that sojourneth with you.

And if you shall say: Why hath the Lord our God done all these things to us? Thou shalt say to them: As you have forsaken me and served a strange god in your own land, so shall you serve strangers in a land that is not your own.

And thou shalt be left stripped of thy inheritance which I gave thee: and I will make thee serve thy enemies in a land which thou knowest not. Because thou hast kindled a fire in my wrath, it shall burn for ever.
