For thou hast cast off thy people, the house of Jacob: because they are filled as in times past, and have had soothsayers as the Philistines, and have adhered to strange children.
What is the meaning that my beloved hath wrought muck wickedness in my house? Shall the holy flesh take away from thee thy crimes in which thou hast boasted?

If therefore this people or the prophet or the priest shall ask thee, saying: What is the burden of the Lord? Thou shalt say to them: You are the burden: for I will cast you away, saith the Lord.
And to Benjamin he said: The best beloved of the Lord shall dwell confidently in him. As in a bride-chamber shall he abide all the day long: and between his shoulders shall be rest.
And I will leave the remnants of my inheritance, and will deliver them into the hands of their enemies. And they shall become a prey, and a spoil to all their enemies.
