I know, O Lord, that the way of a man is not his: neither is it in a man to walk and to direct his steps.
The steps of man are guided by the Lord: but who is the man that can understand his own way?
It is the part of man to prepare the soul: and of the Lord to govern the tongue.
Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.
The sorrows of death surrounded me: and the torrents of iniquity troubled me.
In all thy ways think on him, and he will direct thy steps.
The heart of man disposeth his way: but the Lord must direct his steps.
The way of the just is right: the path of the just is right to walk in.
