We have groped for the wall, and like the blind we have groped as if we had no eyes. We have stumbled at noonday as in darkness: we are in dark places as dead men.

And mayst thou grope at midday as the blind is wont to grope in the dark, and not make straight thy ways. And mayst thou at all times suffer wrong, and be oppressed with violence: and mayst thou have no one to deliver thee.

They shall meet with darkness in the day, and grope at noonday as in the night.

Beth. He hath set me in dark places, as those that are dead for ever.

But he that hateth his brother, is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth; because the darkness hath blinded his eyes.

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that the sun shall go down at midday, and I will make the earth dark in the day of light:

Nun. They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they were defiled with blood: and when they could not help walking in it they held up their skirts.

Give ye glory to the Lord your God, before it be dark, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains. You shall look for light and he will turn it into the shadow of death and into darkness.

And very many of them shall stumble and fall, and shall be broken in pieces, and shall be snared and taken.

The way of the wicked is darksome: they know not where they fall.

And he shall be a sanctification to you: but for a stone or stumbling and for a rock of offence to the two houses of Israel, for a snare and a ruin to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

And the word of the Lord shall be to them: Command, command again; command, command again: expect, expect again; expect, expect again: a little there, a little there: that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

And languish in heart, and that multiplieth ruins. In all their gates I have set the dread of the sharp sword, the sword that is furbished to glitter, that is made ready for slaughter.

Therefore night shall be to you instead of vision, and darkness to you instead of divination; and the sun shall go down upon the prophets, and the day shall be darkened over them.
