And hath not wronged any man but hath restored the pledge to the debtor: hath taken nothing away by violence: hath given his bread to the hungry and hath covered the naked with a garment:

He that giveth to the poor, shall not want: he that despiseth his entreaty, shall suffer indigence.

If thy enemy be hungry, give him to eat: if he thirst, give him water to drink:

And hath not grieved any man, nor withholden the pledge, nor taken away with violence: but hath given his bread to the hungry and covered the naked with a garment:

When thou shalt pour out thy soul to the hungry and shalt satisfy the afflicted soul, then shall thy light rise up in darkness, and thy darkness shall be as the noonday.

He that is inclined to mercy shall be blessed: for of his bread he hath given to the poor. He that maketh presents shall purchase victory and honour: but he carrieth away the souls of the receivers.
