And now what have I here, saith the Lord: for my people is taken away gratis? They that rule over them treat them unjustly, saith the Lord, and my name is continually blasphemed all the day long.

And there shall be in that day, saith the Lord, the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and a howling from the Second, and a great destruction from the hills.

Thy children are cast forth, they have slept at the head of all the ways, as the wild ox that is snared: full of the indignation of the Lord, of the rebuke of thy God.

I was angry with my people, I have polluted my inheritance and have given them into thy hand. Thou hast shewn no mercy to them: upon the ancient thou hast laid thy yoke exceeding heavy.

I know thy dwelling, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.

And Isaias said to them: Thus shall you say to your master: Thus saith the Lord: Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of the Assyrians have blasphemed me.

What dost thou here, or as if thou wert somebody here? For thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, thou hast hewed out a monument carefully in a high place, a dwelling for thyself in a rock.

But I will declare for ever: I will sing to the God of Jacob.

They shall be brought with gladness and rejoicing: they shall be brought into the temple of the king.

And the king shall greatly desire thy beauty; for he is the Lord thy God, and him they shall adore.

And knowing the voice of the young man the Levite, and lodging with him, they said to him: Who brought thee hither? What dost thou here? Why wouldst thou come hither?

And the Lord said to him: I have seen the affliction of my people in Egypt, and I have heard their cry; because of the rigour of them that are over the works.

Nevertheless, because thou hast given occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, for this thing, the child that is born to thee shall surely die.
