Thus saith thy Sovereign, the Lord and thy God, who will fight for his people: Behold, I have taken out of thy hand the cup of dead sleep, the dregs of the cup of my indignation. Thou shalt not drink it again any more.

For thus saith the Lord: Yea verily. Even the captivity shall be taken away from the strong: and that which was taken by the mighty shall be delivered. But I will judge those that have judged thee: and thy children I will save.

Because the Lord will judge his cause, and will afflict them that have afflicted his soul.

The Lord standeth up to judge: and he standeth to judge the people.

For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Take the cup of wine of this fury at my hand: and thou shalt make all nations to drink thereof, unto which I shall send thee.

For as you have drunk upon my holy mountain, so all nations shall drink continually: and they shall drink, and sup up, and they shall be as though they were not.

Behold I will make Jerusalem a lintel of surfeiting to all the people round about: and Juda also shall be in the siege against Jerusalem.

Be astonished and wonder waver and stagger: be drunk, and not with wine: stagger, and not with drunkenness.

He. He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath inebriated me with wormwood.

Res. Thou hast judged, O Lord, the cause of my soul, thou the Redeemer of my life.
