Son of man, they that dwell in these ruinous places in the land of Israel, speak, saying: Abraham was one, and he inherited the land, but we are many, the land is given us in possession.
Therefore, thus saith the Lord to the house of Jacob, he that redeemed Abraham: Jacob shall not now be confounded, neither shall his countenance now be ashamed:
And the Lord hath blessed my master wonderfully, and he is become great: and he hath given him sheep and oxen, silver and gold, men-servants and women-servants, camels and asses.
I will bless thee, and I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand that is by the seashore. Thy seed shall possess the gates of their enemies.
For thou art our father: and Abraham hath not known us, and Israel hath been ignorant of us. Thou, O Lord, art our father, our Redeemer: from everlasting is thy name.
And thou shalt speak thus in the sight of the Lord thy God: The Syrian pursued my father, who went down into Egypt, and sojourned there in a very small number, and grew into a nation great and strong and of an infinite multitude.
HEAR ye these things, O house of Jacob, you that are called by the name of Israel and are come forth out of the waters of Juda, you who swear by the name of the Lord and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in justice.
