And they shall make a noise against them, that day, like the roaring of the sea. We shall look towards the land, and behold darkness of tribulation: and the light is darkened with the mist thereof.

And they shall look to the earth, and behold trouble and darkness, weakness and distress, and a mist following them and they cannot fly away from their distress.

At their presence the earth hath trembled, the heavens are moved: the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars have withdrawn their shining.

The noise of a multitude in the mountains, as it were of many people: the noise of the sound of kings, of nations gathered together. The Lord of hosts hath given charge to the troops of war.

The burden of the beasts of the south. In a land of trouble and distress, from whence come the lioness and the lion, the viper and the flying basilisk, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of beasts and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not be able to profit them.

Therefore is judgment far from us and justice shall not overtake us. We looked for light, and behold darkness: brightness, and we have walked in the dark.

Give ye glory to the Lord your God, before it be dark, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains. You shall look for light and he will turn it into the shadow of death and into darkness.

For thus saith the Lord: We have heard a voice of terror: there is fear and no peace.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I come against thee, O Tyre, and I will cause many nations to come up to thee, as the waves of the sea rise up.

Woe to them that desire the day of the Lord: to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.
