Who call a bird from the east, and from a far country the man of my own will. And I have spoken and will bring it to pass: I have created, and I will do it. Hear me, O ye hardhearted, who are far from justice.

God is not a man, that he should lie: nor as the son of man, that he should be changed. Hath he said then, and will he not do? Hath he spoken, and will he not fulfil?

For he is alone, and no man can turn away his thought. And whatsoever is soul hath desired, that hath he done.

Who hath raised up the just one from the east, hath called him to follow him? He shall give the nations in his sight, and he shall rule over kings: he shall give them as the dust to his sword, as stubble driven by the wind, to his bow.

In whom we also are called by lot, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things according to the counsel of his will.

But if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it, lest perhaps you be found even to fight against God. And they consented to him.

What shall I say, or what shall he answer for me, whereas he himself hath done it? I will recount to thee all my years in the bitterness of my soul.

Thus saith Cyrus king of the Persians: The Lord the God of heaven hath given to me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judea.

According to the eternal purpose, which he made, in Christ Jesus our Lord:

Therefore, hear ye the counsel of the Lord which he hath taken against Babylon and his thoughts which he hath thought against the land of the Chaldeans. Surely the little ones of the flocks shall pull them down: of a truth their habitation shall be destroyed with them.

I have raised up one from the north: and he shall come from the rising of the sun. He shall call upon my name: and he shall make princes to be as dirt, and as the potter treading clay.

Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?

To do what thy hand and thy counsel decreed to be done.

Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou and all thy bands, and thy nations that are with thee: I have given thee to the wild beasts, to the birds, and to every fowl, and to the beasts of the earth to be devoured.

Declare to many against Babylon, to all that bend the bow: stand together against her round about and let none escape: pay her according to her work: according to all that she hath done, do ye to her: for she hath lifted up herself against the Lord, against the Holy One of Israel.

I have raised him up to justice and I will direct all his ways. He shall build my city and let go my captives, not for ransom, nor for presents, saith the Lord, the God of hosts.

Who say to Cyrus: Thou art my shepherd, and thou shalt perform all my pleasure. Who say to Jerusalem: Thou shalt be built. And to the temple: Thy foundations shall be laid.

And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon that great river Euphrates; and dried up the water thereof, that a way might be prepared for the kings from the rising of the sun.

And they shall be left together to the birds of the mountains and the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall be upon them all the summer, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall the peg be removed, that was fastened in the sure place. And it shall be broken and shall fall: and that which hung thereon, shall perish, because the Lord hath spoken it.

Hast thou not heard what I have done to him of old? From the days of old I have formed it: and now I have brought it to effect: and it hath come to pass that hills fighting together and fenced cities should be destroyed.

All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, all ye beasts of the forest.

And a few men that shall flee from the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Juda: and all the remnant of Juda that are gone into the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine or theirs.

And it shall come to pass, that when the Lord shall have performed all his works in Mount Sion and in Jerusalem, I will visit the fruit of the proud heart of the king of Assyria and the glory of the haughtiness of his eyes.

O Lord, thou art my God. I will exalt thee, and give glory to thy name: for thou hast done wonderful things, thy designs of old, faithful. Amen.

Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of the Jordan to the strong and beautiful: for I will make him run suddenly upon her. And who shall be the chosen one whom I may appoint over her? For who is like to me and who shall bear up against me? And who is that shepherd that can withstand my countenance?
